Hyundai Accent Hatchback on Second Year Win as Car of the Year-Philippines Subcompact of the Year

Every year, at the Car of the Year-Philippines (COTY-P) Awards, the over-50 member organization of motoring experts from top broadcast, print and online media establishments announce their top choices from among the automotive industry’s newly rolled-out vehicles.

 

The CAGI stated, “The Hyundai Accent hatch has the power and the practicality of a five door going for it. It’s just a hoot to drive and because it’s a diesel, you get to save a bit more on your fuel bills as well.”

 

Now thoughtfully sculpted with a new look, which includes new projector-type headlamps with LED positioning lamps, the Accent is a perfect match for the young hip crowd’s search for a Premium car that incorporates their smart and stylish vibe with fuel economy.

 

The Accent Hatch’s Diesel Enginology features a 1.6-lilter CRDi VGT Engine with power output of 128 ps at 4000 rpm; and maximum torque output of 26.5 kg-m at 1900-2750 rpm. The best engine power in its class is made possible with Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT), which optimizes air flow to the engine for optimum combustion and the best possible boost of power at any RPM range.
